I was at the Dublin Champion show today(27/12/08) There was talk from exhibitors that when the Irish Kennel Club have held the Euro show in May 2009 they will leave the FCI. Can it be done?

Hm...Err... Everything is possible, FCI doesnt the jail, every one may go away, it is much more easy than to join, (the club must complete some terms to join the FCI Club-system)... But why Irish Club may want to run away?  AFAIK, FCI has the agreement with CKC, KC and AKC for co-recognize pedigrees, judges and tittles, so Irish kennel Club must do the same or it will be isolated from FCI Club System. Because no one Irish dog may be imported to any FCI-club, no one Irish judge may work at FCI-club show etc... So I simply cant imagine for what Irish club may want to go out of FCI system. |

We have only 6 championship clubs who held a FCI international show. One of them Hibernian have taken the decision not to do it again due to the money sent to the FCI which was €1 per entry. Money sent to FCI was €1400/1500.
