Hi all, I´m Ulla Björkman from Finland. In my kennel I breed only smooth standard dachshunds at the moment. You can meet me and my daughter (handler of our dogs) at shows in Finland and other coutries. Some of our dogs are used in hunting which is the hobby of my husband. At my homepage www.elisanet.fi/kennel/unitasyou can see our dogs and read what is happening in our kennel. Thanks for the invitation to this new forum.

Hi Dimitris, I think nobody goes there to just win. It´s a once in a lifetime experience. And a wonderfull chance to meet best showdogs in the the world. Abd meet new people. It´s kind of a sensation that a dachshund from Europe goes there, I think.

Hi Ulla, Dont missunderstand me please , of what I said to you. Was just a "joke" I agree totaly with you. Its a very big Honor to be there you and your dog. And you are going to meet not just the dogs from around the world but also so many great dogs from USA , in the other shows that are held the same days there. To tell you the truth, we are dachshund persons and we have to be in your side for winning also. To not tell you that my Dapple pregnant dog Chakra was second dog all breeds in Greece after the German Sheperd all year around until I left Greece in July. So good luck in USA from my heart.....!!!!! Dimitris www.ygeiakennel.com

Hi mum! I'm eagerly waiting for the trip to the US too. California here we come :-)
Last weekend Unita's Charlemagne aka Calle was shown at Jyväskylä international show (entry over 6000 dogs, YES we have BIG shows in Finland) and won BIS-2! BIS judge was German Peter Machetanz. BIS-1 American akita, BIS-3 golden retriever and BIS-4 german shepherd.
I'm sure we'll try to take new photos of Ozzy the Australian import during winter holidays, when I go and spend the Christmas in Kouvola. One thing is for sure; Ozzy has the most lovable and playful character, which is sooo important for us. (I hate to see shy and timid dachshunds)
Three of our dogs live with me: Unita's Mercedes, Unita's Midas Touch and Unita's Charisma.

Regards to everybody from sunny California. We arrived here yesterday. The trip wet well and after the long flight we met a happy Calle on the LAX airport in Los Angeles. We have already met many of the participants from different countries. The week will be busy, but we will try to take some photos and share them and a story with you later on. It's really hot here, +27C. The weekend should be a little cooler :-)

Here is a new photo of our c&t Australian import "Ozzy". He is almost 1 year old. The pic isn't that good, but maybe you can see something... Ozzy is such a clown that it's "challenging" to take pics...
