I took my two girls to the orthopedic doctor today to have their patella's checked they were both normal and I will now register them with the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals that we have here in America. They have also passed their testing for their eyes. Joyce Warren

Hi Joyce, You are a very wonderful breeder I agree that you test dogs' patella luxation. I also register the result of the patella luxation test of my dogs with the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals. Example: www.offa.org/display.html?appnum=1279724#animalOFA is a good laboratory!! The hip joint of a part of dog in Japan seems not to be good. And, I am nervous in the epilepsy problem and the eye problem. Dog's health is very important!! ~Noriko

Noriko: i commend you for doing this. I did not know that foreign dogs could be registered with the OFA. I';m glad to hear that they can be registered. i do my dogs eyes every year until they are about 7 years old. On my males side I have 6 generations clear on their eyes. i did both the eyes and patella's on my Ch. Joy-Dens Mirror- image dog. joyce

Joyce, It is VERY EXCELLENT that your dogs have the great result of the eye test over a long generation, and you are continuing your dogs' eye tests My dogs cannot check CERF,because CERF can be checked only in the United States. I test my dogs' PRA DNA test with University of Missouri-Columbia College of Veterinary Medicine. The test that the cheek swab uses is very cheap, very easy, and is very good for me. www.caninegeneticdiseases.net/PRA/mainPRA.htmMy dogs do the eye check(funduscopic examination etc) every year by an ophthalmology department special veterinarian who learnt in US and UK. In Japan, there is no group that manages the data base for the dog and the excellent laboratory like the United States And, the laboratory seems to be researching dog's epilepsy in the United States now. I am getting hopes in it. www.canine-epilepsy.net/I think that laboratory, kennel club, and breeders in the United States are really wonderful!!! ~Noriko
